Cross-Cultural Bridges, a traveling exhibit in Portland, Oregon honoring the concurrence of Ramadan and the Jewish High Holidays. Three artists, Shahna Lax (Jewish, copper), Canaan Canaan (Palestinian Moslem, encaustic) and Anne Barber Shams (Christian, fused glass and acyrlics), created exhibit with openings at Havurah Shalom Synogogue and Bilal Mosque with speakers and reception. Also showed at the Portland Convention Center during Eid celebration.

ICON- Visual Expressions of the Sacred, a juried exhibit, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Durango, Colorado. One of three award recipents among ~30 extraordinary visual artists. Jurors Larry Chalmers, past president of the Art Institute of Chicago and Art Meyer, Lutheran minister.

Shumei International Art Symposium - Crestone, Colorado - May 2004
Thirteen artists representing a variety of mediums invited to present a two-hour demonstration/lecture. Shahna Lax was the first presenter. Her talk focused on her Breath of the Compassionate series of copperworks. The lecture covered the meaning of art, general method and process of acid etching copper and cutting fretwork with the assistance of an overhead projector, a walking tour and indepth description of each piece within the series, and a question and answer period.
